Policy Tools and Incentives for Protecting Biodiversity on Private Lands

    • Increasing concern over degradation of the Australian environment has resulted in a number of innovative programmes and policy initiatives by the Australian Government targeting conservation of biodiversity. This presentation will cover some emerging policy issues in biodiversity conservation, the identification of high-value assets, and the use of market based instruments. The role of science and applied R&D to support these policies and programmes is outlined.
